Hoists and service bays

A hoist down is a bay down. We get it back up.

Hoist motors, power units, controls and the circuits that feed them, plus bay lighting, compressors and outlets for every tool your techs plug in.

Who repairs hoist motors and wiring in a dealership service department?

A licensed electrical contractor handles the electrical side of a vehicle hoist: the motor, the power unit's wiring and controls, the disconnect and the circuit feeding it. Kaion Energy Solutions does this work for dealership service departments across the GTA, and works with your lift service company for mechanical repairs and inspections.

Signs of an electrical problem

When the lift won't lift.

  • Motor hums but won't runOften a failed capacitor, contactor or motor winding.
  • Breaker trips on the way upAn overloaded circuit, a failing motor or a damaged cord.
  • Buttons or limit switches acting upWorn controls, loose connections or a bad switch.
  • Damaged cord or pendantCut, crushed or burnt, and unsafe to keep using.
  • New hoist going inA new circuit, disconnect and power unit hook-up.
  • Moving or adding baysCircuits relocated and new ones run as the shop changes.

Everything in the bay

The rest of the shop, too.

Air compressors

Motors, starters and the dedicated circuits that keep air on every bay.

Tire and alignment equipment

Circuits for tire machines, balancers and alignment racks, where you want them.

Exhaust extraction

Fans and controls for vehicle exhaust hose reels and shop ventilation.

Bay lighting

LED high-bays and strips over every hoist. See shop lighting.

EV chargers in the bays

For diagnostics, updates and cars that come in empty. See EV chargers.

Outlets and drops

Cord reels and outlets at every bay, so techs stop chaining extension cords.

Bay lighting

Light your techs can work by.

Dim, flickering bays slow down every job. LED high-bays and strip fixtures put even, bright light under the vehicle and over the bench, and use a fraction of the hydro.

  • Fixtures placed between hoists, not blocked by them
  • Installed bay by bay, after close if you need
  • Fewer burnt-out lamps for your porter to chase

Questions

Hoist and service bay questions.

Can you fix a hoist that won't lift?

If the problem is electrical, such as the motor, the controls, the wiring or the circuit, yes. If it is hydraulic or mechanical, we tell you, and your lift service company takes it from there.

Can you wire a new hoist?

Yes. We run the circuit, install the disconnect and connect the power unit, and coordinate with the hoist installer so the lift can be inspected and put into service.

Can you work after the service department closes?

Yes. We can do bay work after close or on weekends, so techs keep turning hours.
